None of this is helping. I'm going to have to try discuss my concerns with my doctor. I believe in privacy so am not going into go into detail on what my problems are or entail to complete strangers I've never met. All I was asking for was advice in how to talk to the doctor about it and explain how it may effect my current situation. I don't feel ready and may need to persuade the doctor to agree with me. I have been on JSA in the past and have been sanctioned. Maybe I am in fear of that happening again, I don't know but surely me and my doctor are both capable of making agreements on my mental and physical health conditions.
The NHS let me down so many times with my mental health issues, that I sought help at The Priory and funded my appointments with my DLA.
If you are struggling to talk to your GP, try writing down your concerns. I experienced so many appointments where I could not open up or talk, that I ended up writing a letter to my GP for them to read before my appointment.0 -
Ok well just have to see how this goes then. I feel more relived now because I feel as if somebody finally agrees that I am ill and currently not ready to look for work/or do work. Be that both physical and mentally because both are having adverse effects on what I'm able to do in my day to day living. This is a marathon not a sprint.0

Well had my telephone appointment this morning with the counsellor answering her questions. She confirmed exactly what I thought basically. My severe anxiety issues that are beyond my current control has led to depression. Looks like I shall unfortunately be on ESA for quite a while now as I try to recover. They suggested medication and CBT treatment which will be discussed with my doctor in my appointment on Tuesday.
Hi op, just please be aware that come the assessment/wca, you may well be found fit for work or not gain enough points to stay on ESA. They won't just take your doctor/consultants opinion.
It's the same for any illness, physical or mental. As it depends on what comes out from the work capability assessment . If you read through this forum, you'll find lots of info on people going through similar, and due to recent changes at the beginning of April, they have stopped you being able to reclaim Esa once you have lodged an appeal. Please be nice to all moneysavers!

Big big thanks to Niddy, sorely missed from these boards..best cybersupport ever!!0 -
Yes I am aware of what you say. These assessments however seem to take a long time. I hope not to be on ESA forever and for the duration I'm on it I may not be called up for a WCA. I shall cross that bridge when it comes to it.0
