The worse was from a professional who claimed Pete "would lose a fortune". What tosh.

The worst is basically every post you have made on this thread and I stand by my comment in relation to the post made by the OP.
What tosh. Next time, try to do at least a fag packet fact find fella

The only tosh is from you.
I have no interest in explaining or justifying anymore to you

That is because you have failed to explain or justify anything.
Pete - ignore these chumps, go and see a real world financial adviser, not these blowhard chumps.

The OP would be wasting his money doing that.

A free hour with an IFA preferable reading your expertise? :D

I can guarantee that the free hour will not reveal anything at all.
What if he clubbed into a pDBs which annually revalued higher than others and which offered a more competitive actuarial rate in the event of early retirement?

Then he has to be prepared to try and find an alternative job.
Don't say I didn't give you the chance to learn something.

Learn something from you? Now that is a joke. :rotfl:
There are many which could help him.

None of which he is a member of.

Out of interest, if a transfer was possible, say 12 years AFPS 75 into the LGPS, how would it work practically. Would it be a straight 12 additional years LGPS or is it based on how much the transfer value would purchase?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but it looks like the OP has bailed out some time ago :)
  • Are you in LGPS or likely to be?

    Pre April 15 then.

This is GAD chapter and verse. It's very dry. How long have you been out of 75 and more importantly, how long have you been in LGPS? Timescales apply.

    Leo,

You only have 12 months to do it, sorry.

Added: A brief aide-memoire for csps. A couple of years old, but some good valid info in it still.

Wouldn't the past service final salary benefits remain final salary if moved via Transfer Club? So the revaluation rate would be the same in either scheme (assuming salary escalation at same rate in both schemes)?

Aha! Yes, they would. But not if they weren't..

What if there was a club transfer pension scheme, which, last September was uprated at 1.9% instead of, what was it, 1.3%?
