Wednesday 8th April what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and canceling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

Clf, Twiggy, Ziggy & all that follow, hope you have a good day x
I was awake at 4am this morning and gave up trying to sleep and got up at 5am so will be shattered laterI think its because I knew we had to be back at the hospital at 8.30am for my 6yr to have another batch of blood tests and it was on my mind, not sure why though really as he's been having them regularly since he was 3. Anyway we were in and out in 10 mins and it was the first time he hadn't sat on my knee for the bloods to be taken, he held his brothers hand instead, bless him. They were both so good. He's off to a friends for the afternoon so me & the eldest are going to paint the summer house in the garden (he's so excited as he thinks its a proper big boys job!) Paint is in the garage so no extra cost.
Rest of the list contains
[STRIKE]* Heating off
* All meals from stores - plan & prep
* Make soup using manky veg & left over gravy from fridge for lunch
* Check Banking/update spreadsheets[/STRIKE]
* Do some Swagbucks
[STRIKE]* Check Sun perks * Check FPL * Check TCB * Check Quidco[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]* Check email survey oppurtunities
* Unsubscribe from junk emails[/STRIKE]
* Put nail varnish on the top of a key so that I can instantly spot it - was going to buy a plastic cover for it so save a bit there

Hi All
Today is dreadful at the shop. Have taken £12 all day. Just no one around. I am not sure what to do for the best for the rest of this week really. Do I just close up for the rest of the week thus saving £30 a day in childcare fees. Or keep going and hope for some trade Thursday, Friday?
It is utterly soul destroying to see the small lead I have worked so hard to achieve slipping away.
I have also sent a fairly rude email to the woman at the ombudsman today who is supposed to be adjudicator on my complaint. I haven't heard one word from her in a month. Starting to feel like I want to make a complaint against the ombudsman as well. How can it be normal to allow companies to treat people like I have been and then give them month after month to drag the complaints procedure out?
I followed all the protocols, wrote to the company concerned, waited the period they are allowed to respond by, then escalated it. Back in September! The ombudsman then allowed the company concerned till December to give a final response, which it did. And was a 1 page email of rubbish really. I responded to that via the Ombudsman. Who then determined that this company are not the main offender. It is now April and they've had since December to move this on. Since then I've had one letter to sign to say I want to now complain against the new company. And now nothing since.
I don't know much about all this but I just feel I'm falling between the cracks and no one cares.
Sorry to rant. I'm getting so bad for it lately. Was on such a high last week but what can you do when there are literally no customers??
2 hours and 12 minutes till I can go and collect son. Not that I'm counting..

Bob, if you think it's going to be slow anyway could you not take your son in with you to save on the childcare?Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Oh dear sorry to hear things aren't going well Bob. I suspect it is a combination of the school hols and the nice weather
The insurance thing sounds a right pain as well. If the insurance company are not the main offender, who is, and why is the ombudsman not addressing this?
I managed to kick myself up the behind last night after OH went to bed and start to clean up the house, which had not been touched since I was ill last week. I cleared the dining room table, and cleaned the kitchen work tops and the cooker top. Anyway, I have got on and done all the downstairs today, and put all my sales stock back in the loft. OH still has a cold, but is thankfully out in his workshop in the sunshine doing some small jobs for his business instead of moping around indoors feeling sorry for himself.
Still to do:
Hoover and dust bathroom, bedroom and passageway on first floor. The only other room on this floor is OH's den, and if he wants that cleaned he can do it. I have shut the door :cool: Didn't get to this as DD turned up with baby GD
Hoover stairs and top floor bedroom and ensuite Didn't get to this either
Tidy garden as there are pots everywhere and it looks messy or this
Put baby tomato plants in bigger pots or this:o
Get washing in Done
Cook something for supper Did quite well here, pork in mushroom sauce and HM rhubarb crumble using the first of this year's home grown rhubarb
Nothing spent as yet, although there is not much milk left. Probably enough for OH today though (I don't like it) and if not he can pop over to the corner shop and buy some. DD wanted to go to town, so I ended up buying milk, plus a couple of reduced lamb shanks which I have frozen
Right, better tackle the bathroom! Oh well, there is another day tomorrow
Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather0 -
Hey Bob
Sorry it's going slow this week. Next week should be better hopefully. I'd stick with it, incase regulars turn in. You don't want to lose regulars or potential new customers. Just one person coming in and liking place could be another person who comes in every week. Maybe a indeed of special offer for school holidays or something? I'm sure there must be ways to combat it but it's hard to know what without knowing area, clientele etc
