MBNA and the likes...

Hi there!

Newbie here so please go easy :p . Anyway, I have been a customer with MBNA for about 10 years now and as I have 3 accounts (all of zero % ) as I'm trying to pay them off in vein, this morning they have sent me a letter.

Dear Sir

We have included a periodic review etc etc etc

Bottom line, we have withdrawn your credit card facility!

To my shock (as I've never ever missed a payment with them) I logon to my accounts and lo and behold, they have suspended my account indefinately..

Now, not that I have used these cc's for a long time, but soley as a catalyst to pay my debts off quicker using 0% etc.

But now they have stripped me of my 'facilities' and whats even worse the 0% offer are expiring! which means they will rip me off 20-29% apr!!!

I know its well within their rights, but I feel victimised and a criminal but I havent or dont think I have done anything wrong?

Depressed....

How much do you have on these cards?
What is the total credit limit and how much have you use?
Do you have a good credit history? No defaults, CCJ electoral role etc.

I ask these questions to assess wether or not you should apply for other card deals to BT the balances over to. There are a mixture of 0% 'BT fee' cards as well as low apr 'LOB' cards.

Have you missed any payments on any other credit facilities on your credit file? they will take this information into account, not just own account payment history when making these decisions.
  • Nope I have never ever missed a payment on ANY cards whatsoever. I have a mortgage and even just got approved for new cards with good bt %. Its MBNA's loss not mine...

Oh, i finally spoke to someone, and they said, we've checked your credit file and you have alot of debt so we're not taking the risk.
