Praise, plusnet retention

Yesterday, Easter Monday I phoned plusnet as my deal comes to an end on 9/4/15 and asked what they could do to keep me as I had seen better offers than they were offering themselves.
The bloke went on the competitors website and immediately price matched it no questions or placing me on hold.
Plusnet is actually cheaper per month with price Match as plusnet line rental is cheaper.
I've been with them for 3 years and can't fault them, so very happy how easy it was to get the price match to stay with them.

what deal do you have? Been with Tesco a while now, I have free b/b, just paying line rental £15 odd.

The deal I told them I was looking at was free broadband for 9 months, then £3 for 9 months.
Plusnet couldn't offer the free and then increase after 9 months, so he did it as (9x3) divided by 18 to get my monthly payment, so £1.50 per month, so over 18 months I have the same cost.
Tesco broadband isn't available in my area unfortunateky so that deal wasn't available to me to get them to match.
