DLA is based on care and /or mobility needs. You also have to prove that your child has more care and /or mobility needs than a child of their own age.
Having a diagnosis and a statement doesn't entitle you to DLA for your child.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hi Gemma
My son is autistic with speech and language disability and learning difficulties. He's 17 now and has had DLA since he was 4.
It is certainly worthwhile for you to apply for DLA for your son. Useful sites that will help you express the needs your son has are the National Autistic Society and Cerebra. Also Contact a Family have an information sheet.0
