removing defaults from credit file

I've read a few posts were people say they have had success in having defaults removed from credit files if they paid or all or part of the balance. Is this actually something that can be done even after the debts are settled/partially settled? I've always thought as this is a true representation of credit that they weren't allowed to remove this information?

Unlikely, but you never know unless you ask.
Who owns it?
How much for?
What's the default date?:beer:0 -
Well I had a few in the past all of them are under £500. Ridicolous I know as I should have paid them. The dates vary from 2010 - 2014.0

Oh and obviously owned by a few different companies like lowell, pra group, ssl capital and Halifax.0

Unlikely to get em all removed.
Worth a go though, DCAs may be desperate for cash if you time it near the end if the month/quarter.
Make sure you get any offer in writing before paying though.

If a CCJ gets fully paid within a month, I think it gets removed, or at least marked as settled.
