Not sure if you will agree (but I think you might) - isn't it true that you have been borrowing stuff off me for years and made some your own so to speak:) and despite many posts to the contrary, secretly you agree with DC's 'take' on IVA's as well:)
That's my take anyway:)
DC
Don't mind admitting to a tiny amount of borrowing DC, but you are pushing it a little with the last bit. Saw your tweet about not being anti IVA the other day though......0 -

Hi
Tiny bit!!
I think you are being too modest, yes much toooo modest
On the IVA issue, its just 'balance' that's all:)

Thankyou to all for the replies, although I got to admit I got a bit lost toward the end there! Newbie alert.
Apart from some nightmares about creditors on the doorstep I tried to put my head in the sand for the remainder of the Easter hols with my children. It has all been incredibly stressful, it obiviously wasn't ever going to be a walk in the park but after my last phone call with step change I can definitely say I felt beyond breaking point.
I did have an intital conversation with national debt line helpline who said my surplus looked fine to go ahead, there's a 6 week waiting list for them to process your DRO which worries me but I'll call them again tomorrow to discuss further.
Laura - thanks for your suggestions, I will definitely email that address you've given me with my step change reference number and contact details tomorrow too.0 -

Ignore the verbal jousting between DC and I, the main key is you getting the right help.
If you feel that a 6 week wait is a long time, and we have to acknowledge here that National Debtline are assumedly swamped if that is the case, then you could always arrange a face to face appointment with your local CAB. A goodly number of them, not all by any means, have "drop in" times available, and provided you have all the information necessary to hand, may be able to process an application quicker. Either way though, at least you now seem to be going forward somewhat.0
