Living abroad

I have been living abroad for 7 years, I have no credit history in the uk apart from a bank account with no overdraft limit. I would like to know which is the best way for me to get back on the credit history. I have a spanish Santander bank account but I don't think this will apply. I would like to rent what can I do.

Speak to letting agents, they will have encountered this before. My old rental house is regularly rented out to foreign teachers on a years placement.
Read the article on credit reports, i think its sticky at the top of this forum which has loads of advice on how to 'build' a credit history.
But of the top of my head i can tell you that the easy things you can do are register on the electoral roll and open a bank account. (perhaps try Santander and see if they can open you one on the strength of your spanish account?)£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
