Hi, I wonder if anyone has a number for the HMRC tax credits office in Washington, Tyne and Wear? Very helpful staff there were dealing with my case and I had the direct number on a letter from them. Unfortunately I've misplaced it, and am getting absolutely nowhere with the standard TC line (0345 300 3900), other than extremely frustrated! thanks

Hi. The number for HMRC tax office is 0300 200 3300. The number for the tax credit helpline is the right one you have, it is not region based it is the same number across the country. So unfortunately if it is tax credit issue then you will have to keep using that number, but if it is an actual tax matter then that is the number for the tax office. Also if it is a tax credit issue and you feel you are getting nowhere with your query, put it in writing (keep a copy) and send it in to them, you will always get a better outcome by writing to these people than on the phone, oh and send it recorded delivery so they cannot say the never got it as there will be a signature on delivery. Also if you feel so frustrated make a written complaint too (also keep a copy of that) and send the same way as above, it is all a pain i know but if it get's you what you want or reduces your stress levels it will be worth putting in that extra effort to get a resolution to your problems. Hope that helps and best of luck. Sue0

Yes it was, and there was a direct office number on the letter from them which I have, annoyingly, misplaced. I don't live in the NE, I just remember that that's where the office I was dealing with, was.blondebubbles wrote: »Was it a compliance office you were dealing with at the Washington office?0
