Insulation Board called...????

I have a very cold front of house. Single brick. I want to insulate inside. There is a board called C........ ? with foam on one side and plasterboard on the other. What is it called ?

I have paper on top of plaster on top of brick. Can I fix the board by scraping paper off (at fixing points), and using 'dab it' as with plasterboard. Will this adhethe foam to the plaster ?

Thickness of board ? (various available I assume).

Do I need a plastic membrane between plaster and foam (in which case I can't use dab it !

Info please - mucho thanks

Think the insulated plasterboard on our cold external wall was screwed onto battens during renovation work as the dab wouldn't stick to the existing surface

battens would add a lot of depth. Was hoping to use dab it, or no nails ?
Would either stick polystyrene to plaster ? (seems not from what you have said

To be effective the boards would have to have a minimum insulation thickness of 25mm, but for improved insulation, and to justify the labour time, I would be looking at 50mm insulation. This is adding a considerable thickness to your walls.

Although expensive, I would look at Fermacell. It is very reliable, and comes with it's own "skim" that you can put on and save the cost of a plasterer.

Talk about the blind lending the blind!
The product is called Gyproc ThermaLine (British Gypsum)(knauf make there own range.) It comes in many grades and thicknesses as a general rule go for the better board and the thickness required to achieve the required thermal conductivity. They have a vapour barrier built in and can be stuck to a wall with Dri-wall adhesive
