Back in 2013 i applied for more credit to buy a motorcycle and was declined...never been declined in my life before and i earn £40k. I tried all sorts to get a loan...all to no avail. In the end i sat down and looked at what i owed, £38,000 in unsecured debt and was using payday loans.
I put my heart in too becoming debt free, sold my Discovery and cleared the finance, bought an older model for cash, sold my second car as didnt need it and paid off toward the finance,I have since paid it off. I have one more payment left on my big loan of £390 on the 1st may 2015. After this i willl owe a total of £600 ish, which i can clear in one payment on the 1st June.
Never again will i get in to so much debt, it was all to easy. Now time to start saving as i will be £1200 per month better of than i was 18 months ago.
Although i have just joined it's all thanks to you guys and gals on here, reading your advice in stickys and other threads...so many thanks.

Congratulations. It must feel like a weight has been lifted!
Hopefully that will be me next year .0 -
thanks. Yes it does feel like a huge weight has been lifted! I thought the only way out of debt was to borrow more/consolidate-how wrong was I. Just suck it in and go without etc, 18 months down the line i have much more money to hand to spoil my family etc, holiday booked and paid off too! Its all thanks to advice from this site-although sometimes a little harsh-but honest!Plan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].

This is the lesson i am slowly learning, having thought all my life their would be a simple trick to sort out my finances. Turns out there was, stop borrowing, spend less, pay it back.
