Hi there!
I just have a quick question. At the moment i am on CTC and about £36 per week WTC. When i go on maternity leave would they reassess (sp?) my benefits based on what i am earning at the time. Like my wages would drop to £500 or so per month would i be able to apply for rent and council tax benefits for the time i am on maternity? Thank you in advance!
Lauren.

WTC and CTC are based on an annual income, so you would need to work out your total annual income less £100 per week that you get SMP and supply that figure to the Tax Credits Office.
You could claim Council Tax and Housing Benefit as they are worked out on a weekly basis.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
