Hi,
For years I have been using myfamily.com. Suddenly last week I stopped being able to get into it from my home PC. There are also some other sites I can't get into. With myfamily I can't even get into the log in page. The only thing that has changed is that i installed PC mechanic and carried out some sweeps etc. I have now uninstalled it. I have tried defrag, spybot, CC cleaner, scandisk etc. but nothing works. Any ideas ? (I can get into it fine from my work PC and the rest of my family have no probs)

Thanks, Tried both. I normally use Firefox but have IE as a back up. Tried both, same result, the front page won't load. Dumped cache and cookies and everything else but it still won't play ball ! (I can get onto the site and log in to view material when I use a proxy server but I cannot upload to the site via a proxy)Education is compulsory, school is not.

Use System Restore and go back to before you installed PC Mechanic and that should cure it.0

Thanks, tried that but it didn't work either ! It is very strange that I can't get into the one site I really need to. I've done the latest virus and trojan scan etc so it's def not a virus.Education is compulsory, school is not.

I done a complete clean out of everything I could think of on my PC. It now works okay, I have no idea which bit sorted it but something worked. Thanks for the suggestions. (The system restore didn't work, in fact I don't think I've ever been able to do a system restore on this PC for some reason.)Education is compulsory, school is not.
