I guess nobody has realised that 16 month old thread has been bumped? ;)
  • It might be old thread but agencies are still doing it. My friend has exactly the same clause in her contract and agency doesn't allow to remove it at all. Saying that they will just pass her details and she will be contacted by Spark. But my friend knows someone who's renting through the same agency and he was signed up by them and had to cancel later on.

Agency is very difficult to deal with and not agreeing to any negotiation. Of course it's only a couple of days before start of agreement, friend is already packed and can't tell them to f.. off and go somewhere else.

Is it worth complaining to some body governing estate agents or energy suppliers?
  • Anyone?

Agency signed up my friend to Spark even though she said no number of times. Spark called her, she said no again but got later welcome letter because agency did it earlier for her.

If there no way to stop this practice?
