first plus. to my knowledge I have never had any dealings with freedom finance, I was sent a copy of the original loan application after I contacted first plus. and there is no mention on the paperwork of freedom finance. So again I put out the question here: how can It be legitimate for a company to take monthly premiums for a product that according to them, has expired from a company that they say no longer exists?
I find that a lot of the responses here are negative in tone, but that's fine by me as I have very little interest in the posters personal opinion I merely am seeking a consensus amongst other people who find themselves in the same boat, whether it is/was with first plus or indeed any other lender.
I have had good success reclaiming ppi from other loan companies with none of this avoidance that is now manifest.
So if anyone has constructive input feel free to reply and share your experience.0 -
I wonder if FF called and suggested or implied from their spiel that they were associated with FP and sold the PPI - or maybe even did the loan themselves, got commission or something and then FP sent you the docs as they were the lender - the issue will be whether you can prove FP sold you the PPI? If FP have records showing FF sold you it and they were just the lender you'll be stuck.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
