The property you move to will have a current supplier. You need to register with them and give them meter readings when you move in as even if you plan to use someone else, it will take a few weeks for the transfer to go through.
I would recommend using energyhelpline. For current supplier enter British Gas or your regional electricity supplier (standard tariff). For how you pay, put how you intend to. For consumption, use their consumption calculator.
The idea is not to take notice of estimated savings, but simply to get it to give you a list of the cheapest tariffs currently available.
If you are going to be in your property for less than 13 months, keep a wary eye out for cheap looking tariffs which apply the discount after a year - by which time you may have moved out so won't get it.0 -
You can use www.moneysupermarket.com for price comparison but you need to enter the amount you spending now, you can just say any astimated.0
