Ingenie Young driver insurance

Hi
Just a warning for people insuring young drivers. ingenie provided us with a quote for insurance which was the best. However my son had not passed his test and we were getting quotes as if he had a licence to decide which car to buy. They offered provisional insurance slightly cheaper than the full insurance. However when my son passed his test 4 weeks later the insurance original cost increased by over £350. They also charged a fee for changing the insurance to full licence holder. Had I known this additional cost would be so much I would have gone with Marmalade for the time he was a provisional driver and then been able to search the market for the best quote again as they also charge a fee and the cost of removal of the black box for cancellation so the cost of cancelling is also not cheap.
They are not clear when they sell the policy as I was aware it may go up but the sales person says it might go up a little but it can also go down.
:mad:I have asked them to give me a percentage of times it has gone down but they are unable to - unsurprisingly.
I have asked for the money back for the excess over the original quote and they immediately distance themselves from the costs saying it is the broker not them. I thought it was their business!!
Hope this helps someone else
