loans.co.uk contacting me 5 years after rejecting my ppi complaint

Options
Hi there,
I have recently received a letter from loans.co.uk who have been trying to trace me after I moved address. I had noticed an address verification check on my credit file from Bank of America that I didn't understand and was about to check but this is clearly why!

The letter stated that it is not regarding an outstanding loan but that 'I may learn something to my advantage'.

I made a ppi complaint to loans.co.uk which was rejected about 5 years ago but I didn't escalate to ombudsman.

Anyone else had this or know what it may be about?

TIA

It could be they have looked this again, It surprises me that they have put
"you may learn something to your advantage" this seems odd to me, if they have looked at your claim again then why not just say they have?.

Can you contact them? beware that this may be a claims co after your business, until you can confirm differently.

I have a loan which was brokered by loans.co.uk

Around 6 years ago I wrote to them stating that I felt I had been mis-sold ppi. They wrote back saying NO , the policy had been fairly sold.

I never took it any further at the time.

7 weeks ago I received a letter from loans.co.uk to say that my complaint had been reopened and its now been decided that the ppi WAS mis-sold !

There was a form along with the letter with the letter which I had to sign and send back authorising my loan company to release details about my loan ....

Im currently waiting on the arrival of my cheque.
The loopy one has gone :j

This is more like it and what I would expect the op to have received.

Loads of old complaints are being reopened and reinvestigated. The wording seems unusual but if they are not sure they have the correct address for you then it would make sense for them not to provide any specific details for data protection reasons. I would say get in touch with them.
