Shredding for coleslaw and sauerkraut is easier with one of these:

You could fill that lonely and inviting empty space in your bucket with it.
Cabbage....... Blech.....!0 -
Very simple cabbage slaw recipe - shred some, using a mandoline slicer or similar, shred a little raw onion. Grate a little apple too if you like. Combine all together with a bit of salt and loads of lemon juice. A very refreshing salady thing to serve with burgers, steaks, cold meats etc.One life - your life - live it!0

Just for the LOL .... I'm wondering if your veg box next week will have another

Thanks, everyone. There's some great ideas here, not least freezing cabbage, which I didn't know you could do - slightly frustrating now I think of the number of part-cabbages I've had to throw out when I could have frozen them!
Got some to do today.
Popped into Tesco last night and they'd got cabbages reduced to 5p so I bought a couple.0 -

Delia Smiths braised red cabbage with apples. Not tried it with white cabbage before, but I would. Google 'Delia red' and it will come up. It uses 2lb cabbage, 1lb onions and 1lb cooking apples and makes about 10- 15 portions, freezes well. I made some at the weekend, and have been putting handfuls of it in my HM turkey stock for a quick cabbage soup. It doesn't seem to have any unpleasant side effects either. I usually make it when I find the cabbage or the apples reduced. Grating the peeled apple into the mix is easier than chopping.Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.0
