    Nice wombling Ali!

God today is so slow. I need £11.60 more in the next hour to cover my overheads plus son's daycare of £30. It's that bad.

Had this super annoying woman come in this morning. First question 'do you do chips?' No we don't. 'Ok what's the cheapest thing on your menu?' Everything is written on the board behind you. Proceeds to basically go 'how much? ' at every single thing. None of my prices are any more than Starbucks or Costa. In the end I left her fuming away to herself about how my shop 'isn't for people who live around here' stupid cow.
If I did do chips they'd be market priced too. And every time I pass KFC it's full of people paying more than I charge for basically a plate full of fried crap.

    Have had enough today.

Lol, Bob, had to smile at your annoying customer. Years ago, I did a stint in a local food business. It was a bakery. At the time, there was a high profile strike which was expected to affect supplies of bread nationally. We were a bakery. We sold bread, sandwiches, cakes, etc, & we had loads of people endlessly asking if we'd still have bread. My manager finally snapped. A woman came in & said, "This flour strike. Will it affect your business in any way?' & my manager said, " No, I can assure you it won't, because we make all our bread & cakes with cement mix".

Not just me feeling a bit meh then :(

Sorry to hear about lack of sleep, nasty things to clear up in the middle of the night, annoying or non-existent customers etc :(

I didn't sleep much either, as OH now has the virus I had last week, and I slept in the spare room to at least try to get some rest, as he doesn't suffer in silence or just get up like I do if I can't sleep. I was up quite late last night as well, getting my end of year business stuff organised, and shattered from doing a car boot (or at least all the carting stuff about that it involved). My house is a tip because I was ill last week, and I can't get the enthusiasm together to clear it up :o

    So, what HAVE I done?

Walked to my sales unit to take in a few small items. It was really quiet in town, with hardly anyone about, and our shop was dead too Bob. Must be something that happens the day after a Bank Holiday - maybe people have spent all their money over the weekend?

    Paid in a cheque

Got my hair cut while I was out, and bought some broccoli, spring onions and a few oranges off the market as it was market day today.

Load of washing out on the line to dry as it is a lovely day again.

Had to take the car out to go to the farm supplier for some chicken food as I had completely run out. Bought some reduced pansies while there. Got loads for £4 :) I have planted them out (in various pots) and watered them in. They already have bees buzzing around them, which is lovely to see :) Love the raised bed by the way Allydowd :)

Put a large item on ebay - hope it sells as I really want rid. If it doesn't, it is off to the local auction house with it when OH is back in the land of the living, as it won't fit in my car and I don't drive his truck.

And nothing else :( Must get off my behind and cook some supper so that OH can go to bed. I might then be able to get on and do a bit more. I must at least water the seedlings.

Hope we all feel a bit more positive and able to make the most of the lovely weather tomorrow!

    Hi Tuesday Savers,
Have spent most of this lovely sunny day in the garden, but for what they're worth, here are my bits of money saving:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Have just set timer for another load tonight. Assume everyone on Economy 7 does this. Why pay double for a wash?
*All laundry line dried for free in the sunshine.
*Having a day of using stuff up from Easter weekend. Lots of leftovers eaten for lunch & more will be making an appearance with jacket potatoes for dinner.
    *Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Baked bread rolls. The dough rose beautifully because I stood the bowl in our sunny conservatory.
*Potted up 6 trays of baby lettuces.
*Potted up 4 trays of baby violas & nasturtiums.
*Top dressed a few tired pots with home made compost & stood them in groups around the borders.
*Planted 2 rather sexy-looking dahlias I received as a gift.
*Tended all my baby veggie plants.
*Been very tough with cat all day. He keeps sucking all the jelly off his cat meat then expects new meat to be opened because the old has gone dry. I'm not pandering to this. He is simply served the same food until it's eaten, then he can have new. He's now waiting for Mr f to get home so he can try wangling new meat from him. No chance!

I have grown so many plants this year - all from free seed, I'm thinking about arranging a selection at the end of our drive with a sign saying 'All 50p - Please help yourself & pop the money through our letterbox'. I've got enough to do things like trays of baby lettuces, primroses, violets, violas, marigolds, nicotiana, phlox, lychnis & heaps more stuff, including herbs.. I wonder if people would buy them. We're not on a main road, but plenty of folk pass by dog walking, taking kids to school, etc. I'll give it some thought, anyway.

Foxgloves - That is so funny, what did the woman do? There is definately a group that will support local business because they like to see it there, and then a group who basically just want to see a filled shop because it betters their house prices (had so many overly sentimental folk contacting me on social media to say how glad they are that Im back in business, but no visit to the shop, its like the charities say about people liking campaigns but not donating) and then there are the crazy folk :)
BTW go for it on your garden business, I think people would still buy flowers if you put them out, a little honesty box & a notice and you are selling without having to do anything. Brillliant!

Dawn - Sorry to hear you had a disrupted night, there is nothing worse than having to know your partner is up and about is there! Interesting about the trade in your town as well. I do think there is something in that re spending, last week my tips jar was overflowing, now people were just buying coffee & a pastry today, basically the cheapest combo, but this weather isnt helping. We just arent a place you'd go on a gorgeous day. Well done on all your work getting your paperwork in order.

Finished up £10.40 short today, so watching that take like a hawk. I have to keep reminding myself that its only been 4 weeks, even though it feels longer, & I am so far supporting myself. If I take £60 per day for the next 6 I will have the rent & tax. Good job Im not relying on the insurance pay out anytime soon. All gone very quiet on that front. My theory is they hope I'll go bust in the mean time then the policy doesnt have to pay out. Very convienent.

Anyway, guess what, Im off for a soak!
