When I plug my headphones into my mobile, my music plays through them as well as normal, but it also comes through the phone's speaker. I'm on Android. Is there an easy fix, or is it the headphone socket that is broken in some way?

Android is on multiple phones so its a guess as to what .
Usual problem is headphones not for that phone or connection socket .0 -
Had a similar problem recently. Sitting on the bus listening to my music when I noticed a woman sitting nearby singing to my music. When I checked the headphones I realised I hadn't pushed the jack pin in far enough!0

Probably a tired socket - when you insert the headphones it breaks a contact for the speaker - unless the socket has got old/knackered.0

It's a Lenovo A820, rooted, on Android 4.1.2. They are headphones I've been using for a while, so it's not that it's new headphones and I've cleaned the dust out from the socket before, so I'm sure that the jack is going fully in to the socket. I've tried it with different headphones too, so I'm pretty sure it's not a headphone problem.0

No all you can do is clean .0

I have a similar problem with my Android phone. With hands-free earphones/mic set plugged in, the phone only uses the mic on the actual phone. So no one can hear me when I put the phone in my pocket.
I guess I'll have to have a poke and a clean too... :-)0 -
If the socket is broken, then you could use bluetooth headphones and turn down the volume for the speakers. On my phone I have two separate volume settings for bluetooth and normal speakers.0

Have you got it in a case or cover? Often the jack is stopped from fully going into the socket as the case/cover is obstructing itIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0
