  • My real name, (text removed by MSE Forum Team), caused me problems so I use a different name.

Have MSE seriously removed this for "personal details"?! Hahahaha. Someone has had a serious sense of humour bypass... (Those who saw the original post will understand!)

I use my 'real name' for most comps, but it isn't actually the name I go by at work, with friends or in real life - just the one on official forms and my passport. Although on Facebook and Twitter I use my 'normal' name, as that's my Facebook name too!

  • Using the name Keyser Söze and it brings me good luck lol. Won a number of things since I started in Dec 2014 under that name. Competitions that involve money or holidays usually require ID somewhere along the line so I use my real name on those comps.

Yeah, I have had to modify mine a bit because some forms don't like the punctuation in the standard spelling! Turns out it's easier to just drop the punctuation for all online forms, so I can make use of auto-fill, than dealing with editing every bleeding time!!

I do sometimes wonder whether having a rather, well, shall we say, non-traditional sound name, might affect my chances of winning (not implying any racism or something here, just more that I have weird letter combinations and the name itself might sound rather dodgy*)

    * I realise this won't make any sense unless I post my actual name but, for MSE rules, I can't do that….

I comped briefly a few years ago and won a few things and never remembered having to give my info to anyone, although I never won cash or a holiday or a car.

Stopped as it was such hard work to keep track of things and also to find comps. Now I've found this place, I'm sure to keep going - it makes it so much easier to track whether I've already entered something or not!
