What name do use for comps?

I'm new to this and just wondered what name(s) you use for comping?
I was thinking that using a fake name for prizes that don't involve money or travel could be a good way to figure out if cold calls are from comping entries (mind the tick boxes!) and I'm really not sure I'd want my real name connected with some of the sites that have prizes.
On the other hand, if it involves money or travel I guess you have to use your real name just in case it isn't a transferable prize. Would hate to win big only to find out I'd ruled myself out that way!
What do you do? What do you think about these things?

I would suggest that you just use your actual name on all comps.
Enter via MSE only & any "dodgy" sites will soon be flagged up & the rest should carry no real risks.0 -

Or buy one of these: http://www.telephonesonline.co.uk/bt-8500-digital-cordless-answer-phone-with-advanced-call-blocker.html
I did & the cold calls ceased overnight.

You could think about using a shortened version of your name, so long as it is plausible. For example, if your name was Catherine, you could use Cath, Cathy, Cathie, Cat etc. This way, you would know that any phone calls, letters etc addressing you in a way that you do not usually use are comping related, but if you won say tickets, the box office would not normally refuse your identification, if they think it is an accepted abbreviation.0

Use you real name as some prizes wil require id or perhaps if a parcel is left at your local post office sorting office and you need to collect you need id in the name of the parcel£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Use your own name for the reasons stated above and don't have; comps, winner, mywins, I'mawinner, Fredsprizes or anything similar in your email or any other handle it might just put off the promoter - in fact something which looks vaguely like a PLC is best.0
