finally buying a car.
my map reading skills aren't the best so will be investing in a Tom Tom or similar device. Not much knowledge about them. Seems ones made by Tom Tom are most popular but a variety of companies make them.
Will be driving mainly in the South East and London outskirts sometimes.
The cheaper the better really but max budget set at £150.
Advice appreciated
thanks

For £150 range the only tomtom is the tomtom one.
Nice basic unit, got it myself.
I had the top of the range GO910 which put me back almost £500, but i relaised that i didnt need all the extra features in it so sold it.
If you just need a nav unit for naviagation the one is just as good as the other tomtoms.
I found most of the extras on the more expensive units pointless to my requirements0 -
Yeah just buy a one, the one V2 is a nice peice of kit, you can add extra maps using a memory card no problem. the features of the others are not needed I have a bluetooth hands free kit why use it via tom tom?0

I after a Tom Tom too, where is the best place to buy one?0

I have to agree with previous posters. I also have a TomTom One V2 and it's excellent. Simple to use without any "fancy" gimmicks which you will pay for and never use. I previously had a Navman Icn520 which I sold at a big loss because it was absolute junk!
Bought my One from Amazon, I think Carphone Warehouse were slightly cheaper at the time but I know and trust Amazon so it was worth the extra couple of quid for me.
It doesn't come with a mains charger or case, however will charge via usb and the supplied car adaptor. I got a good padded case off fleabay for about a fiver.0 -
I am not sure which one to buy as I m about to travel around Europe. Do I go for the smaller one or the new XL one? Please advise0

I have a tomtom 510. I have upgraded to a Western and Central Europe map on a 2gb card. This is excellent for driving in Europe. The Western Europe card has had some info removed so that it will fit on a 1gb card and is therefore not so good.
The only difference between a TT 510 and aTT710 is the cardSomething Really Interesting0
