I have used cdkeys many times, All they have is email address.
I think most people that have problems have used a different email address for cdkeys than the one linked with paypal which then needs verifying.
Nope same email account for both, if they didn't ask for mobile number it is because you have already given them one.
As to what they have then it depends upon what you used to pay them which it looks like they retained and associated with your purchase. Paypal do not have my mobile number either and confirmed that they would not have passed it over for purchases of virtual items.0 -
cheapest upon appearances, perhaps but if they are selling your person info then you are going to be paying for your game purchases for years0
-
Used them for 4.5 years and they don't have my phone number.0
-
They say "Phone verification is mandatory for first-time customers" suggesting that this is an additional security feature for their benefit
I have used them for years and had never given them my number, so may be a new feature. The CDkeys website makes no referrence to these unreasonable requirement before purchase
Apart from the terms and conditions you agreed to?
https://www.cdkeys.com/terms-conditions
2.4. Security Checks.
All customers are required to verify their phone number using our automated verification system in order to access their purchases. The numbers provided are used solely for the purpose of identity verification and are not used for any marketing purposes.I personally never pass my mobile to anyone who I have not met face to face and suggest that the reason I receive zero mobile spam is due to the this.
You are so careful not to hand out your number but you do not read T&C as many websites will not let you sign up without a phone number.0 -

My last purchase from CD keys was 8 days ago.
On checking,I didnt even log in for that purchase.
I have never provided a phone no either on my account or without logging in.0 -
I did not see any terms and conditions during purchase and to be frank my local (UK) laws make unreasonable contractual rules moot, again assuming the T&C have not changed since my purchase.
For those that are happy with the service are you email/mobile spam free? have you ever had identy theft attempts? what payment method did you use?
I ask as it seems odd that some have had unreasonable demands and others say they have not, do they have a problem with paypal and/or me.
I am very careful about what I give out, perhaps their happy customers are less so. Perhaps that they already have your mobile without you knowing/caring. Even Paypal do not have my mobile so if you had no problems and you used paypal then perhaps PP are passing your mobile across to CDkeys so they do not have to ask? PP say not but it would account for why some customers have problems and others do not0 -

Can't recall needing to submit my number to make a purchase but it was a while ago.
Think I used credit card or maybe PayPal but I suspect card.
No spam has occured.0 -

I really do not think asking to provide a mobile number for a digital service would be classed as unreasonable.0 -
