NatWest / RBS don't show correct balances when your cards used in an offline situation.

No bank will because they can't possibly know about the transactions until the retailer reports them.

Colsten /Stclair. OP's is talking about current accounts not credit cards
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

Costen and stclair are both talking about offline debit cards. Nobody in this thread (apart from you) has mentioned credit cards, and why would they when the whole point is current accounts? It seems like you're the only one who doesn't understand that.

So am I. Think about it
    • How is a bank to know about a contactless debit card payment before the retailer tells the bank about the transaction?
    • How is a bank to know about a debit card payment for an amount that is below the floor limit of the retailer before the retailer tells the bank about the transaction?
    • How is the bank to know about a debit card payment made somewhere without a network connection (e.g. plane, train, ferry, remote location, network failure) before the retailer tells the bank about the transaction?
    • How is the bank to know about a debit card CPA before the retailer tells the bank about the transaction?
    • etc

The answer isn't that such transactions aren't happening. They are. It doesn't matter what day of the week they are being made. Retailers also batch up some payments and send them to the bank periodically, such as once or twice a day only, and perhaps weekdays only. Not all bank systems run every day of the week, either, for a variety of reasons, such as people in IT support aren't working at weekends. But even if they did, there is just no guarantee whatsoever that the retailer informs banks instantly about everyone's debit card payments. Consequently you can't rely on your bank account showing all the payments you have made. It's been commented many times on this forum and it's worth saying it again: the only one who can know how much you have spent is yourself.

The OP could get an online debit card and that would [essentially] make all debit card transactions show up.

The price for this would be that the card can't be used in many situations. And there is still no guarantee that all payments will always be reflected on the bank statement / in online banking.
