    Morning all,

Had a lovely day with the DGCH yesterday. Easter egg hunt in the garden, gorgeous roast lamb dinner, and sunshine. They went off to the swings and then I got a call from my son in Cumbria. He was working with my ex, his Dad, when there was an accident. My ex had a 2 tonne bale of paper fall on him. He was airlifted to Newcastle Hospital. He was critical yesterday, he's stable today. Broke his ribs and pelvis, and nearly lost an arm, but the surgeons have managed to save his arm. My son witnessed the whole thing, I was worried about him too, yesterday. My daughter is going up there tomorrow.

Going to make lunch now, just thought I'd let you all know, that I may be a bit busy for a while. Thanks.

    Happy Easter everyone,

We've seen lots of family,DGC and lots of eggs.I took DGD to the park near our new house and we had a lovely time.Expecting DGS at teatime.

TA ,I sympathise with DS as that was exactly how DS2s ex is and it is very hard to live with,it got to the stage where he couldn't really cope anymore and they were falling out a lot.She can be lovely too,but I def saw another side to her during their recent fall out:(
Hilstep, what a shock for poor DS,hope his Dad is ok.
Gers hope your DM is still improving.
Have a good Easter Monday all x

    Good afternoon everyone

Sorry for not being around but I am also dog-sitting for my sister this Easter. He is a gorgeous cocker spaniel called Milo and he's only just 1 year old. I've totally fallen head over heels for him and am plotting how to have him to stay more often :D. We have him till the 13th anyway so we are making the most of him whilst he is here.

What an absolutely beautiful day here in sunny North Devon. We can actually have the back door open all day and it's so warm. Hubby has been home for the past four days too so that has been lovely. I shall be very sorry to see him go back to work tomorrow but at least the girls are home for another week. I made us a chicken salad for lunch with some fresh tiger bread. This has made me inordinately cheerful as it's like a sign of better times to come. I struggle so much in the winter with SAD and now I really feel those days are gone.

My computer is very poorly and needs a new power supply so I'm borrowing my hubby's to write this, it's very weird using a different keyboard. I'm very grateful though to use it as it is my lifeline in the daytime. Hopefully it will be fixed in the week and I will have my computer back.

Just want to say a quick hello to msgnomey...great name! Glad to hear your mum is better Gers and sorry to hear about your ex hilstep. Hope you all have a great day in the sunshine, take care xx

Beautiful here today, we popped over to B&Q and Topps Tiles but still can't find the tiles that we want, it looks like we will have to settle for the Wickes ones.

DD has just rung me up crying because she has lost a filling and can't afford to have it done, I wouldn't mind but we don't pay because we are on tax credits and this will break our budget and will have to come out of the money we had saved to do the bathroom floor, she can't even afford to pay rent because her wages go on bus fares................. blurdy Zero Hour contracts need to be banned :mad::mad:

DH has put the shower tray in and we have to wait 48 hours before starting the tiling, then he has to put the air vent/light in. It looks like it will be a couple of months now before we can afford the flooring. Because we have too many birthdays and it is DS's 21st at the beginning of May.

I have done a nice salad for tea which I am about to serve up.

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday xxx
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

hilstep - What a horrible thing to happen, I hope your ex is ok and DS isn't to traumatised.
Gers - Good news that your DM can come home, will you have to stay to look after her?
Judi - The reason I didn't speak to my MIL!
Welcome msgnomey - took me ages to work out the name!

Managed a potter in the garden and have planted some more seeds, who knows if they will grow. I've not done this before so it's all very exciting. The children's cucumber seeds in the tiny mini greenhouse on the windowsill have started to grow, I bought the set for about 50p just before Christmas.

I've worn myself out now but am cheered up by such a beautiful day, hope you have all had some sunshine. Take care. XX

Judi - The reason I didn't speak to my MIL!

She's still sore with us because my son wouldnt work for her for nothing when he was unemployed. My son said no, hubby said a big fat NO! She wanted something for nothing..... its her business she can employ someone. Then she offered him an apprentice rate of £2.60 an hour. Youngest said no, hubby said NO! For a start it wasnt the trade he wanted to get into.

When i explained that youngest was hoping for an apprenticeship where he is working she just had to get a dig in... 'you do realize he will only be getting paid £2.60 an hour" she said. My answer was "Yes but at least he will be learning a trade that he wants to get into rather than just killing time in a job he's got no interest in".

'You do realize when he's done his apprenticeship they will dump him" she said.

"Yes probably" i said "but at least he will be fully qualified to the 18th edition" i snapped back.

Then she asked when hubby was back, she wanted him to do her a favour and look at some wiring in the new unit she is moving into. Hubby says if it was something to do with her house he'd be there straight away but his time is as precious as hers so if she thinks he's doing a freebie for her business she can think again..

Anyway, youngest is on his way back from his Girlfriends. He is catching the 17.59 express train back.

I have enjoyed my solitude over the last few days but i dont think i'd like to live on my own permanently. :(

    Have a good evening all.
