Hi and thanks for reading.
I am in a position where my CCJ and 2 defaults come off my file in 3 months. I currently pay £25 a month to my defaults and they have about £500 in total left to pay. What happens if I stop paying the £25 a month, can they reapply the defaults or try to take me to court to turn them into CCJ's or am I wasting my money and should I stop paying?
Thanks for your advice.

Yes they can take legal action to recover the money which will add costs.
Curious as to what they will put on your credit file though? Just late markers for the another 6 years?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The accounts will be completely removed from all CRAs automatically, the 6 year rule.they cannot add AP markers.
Regarding the outstanding debt you could continue to pay the current £25 per month,or you can settle in full or ask for a partial settlement.Non of the above will ever be reported to the CRAs.0 -
I would continue to pay as they could try court which would put a CCJ on your file for 6 years if successful.
I doubt you want to risk that...:beer:0 -
Agreed carry on paying, you acknowledge the debt and as mentioned a CCJ on your file for the next 6 years is the risk you take.0

Thanks for the advice, I did think that would be the case but wanted to be 100% sure. Appreciate it!0

As said, once the default reaches 6 years the whole account is removed from your credit file. It should never appear again, not with any type of marker.
Only way it could affect your report from then onwards is via a CCJ.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
