Lied to at a redundancy meeting

They've been utterly useless so far. Completely ignored an email that I sent after having spoken to them and didn't ring me back about a month ago despite promising to do so within a couple of hours.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »This type of thing is why you pay your union subs - use them!0 -
Does everybody have the same notice period, outstanding holiday entitlement, pension scheme, etc.?0

My point was were you actually lied to? You asked if everyone is getting statutory redundancy...did you actually ask if anyone was getting more than this?Yes. This is correct. I don't actually have too much of a problem with it. It's unfair but that's life. What I don't like is being lied to. That is completely wrong in my mind.Don't trust a forum for advice. Is it possible that your colleague has got more due to the age difference that has made him have more years service at the higher rate for his age?http://www.ageuk.org.uk/work-and-learning/redundancy/redundancy-entitlements/
If you are made redundant, you are entitled to:- 1.5 weeks’ pay (currently capped at £464 per week) for each year of service in which you were aged 41 or over
- 1 week’s pay for each year you were under 41
- Half a week’s pay for each year you were under 22
- Covers up to a maximum 20 years service

Yes. I specifically asked if anyone was getting more than the statutory amount. When she said that everyone was getting the legal minimum I asked again whether those who hadn't been asked to stay on were only getting statutory and she repeated that they were.Takeaway_Addict wrote: »My point was were you actually lied to? This is a good point but I'm entitled to 17 weeks and he had been there for 6 or 7 years at 1.5 weeks being 10.5 weeks maximum. Is it possible that your colleague has got more due to the age difference that has made him have more years service at the higher rate for his age?http://www.ageuk.org.uk/work-and-learning/redundancy/redundancy-entitlements/

So, outstanding holiday entitlements would have to be paid, as would pension contributions (both to the end of the notice period).Everyone has been moved to a one month notice period. There are varying numbers of holiday entitlement and pension contributions.
Also any other benefits (medical, etc.) would have to be paid to the end of the notice period.0 -
Thanks for your reply but you're barking up the wrong tree with this one for a number of reasons:So, outstanding holiday entitlements would have to be paid, as would pension contributions (both to the end of the notice period).
Also any other benefits (medical, etc.) would have to be paid to the end of the notice period.
1. All of the items listed form part of the salary. The payment was solely redundancy.
2. We were in month one of the holiday year when he left. I've got a feeling that he was actually 'overdrawn' for 2014 and owed a day or two anyway.
3. He worked his notice.
4. Pension & medical insurance are paid direct to the companies concerned and not to the staff member.0
