Halifax PPI Claims (FYI)

So about 3 years back, i used the PPI template from MSE to send to Halifax. I have had a few Halifax cards over the years, and thought i would give it a punt.
I got a letter back saying that i was unable to claim for a number of reasons that i can't quite remember.
Anyway, i received a letter from them last week. The letter advised me that they are currently reviewing a number of old claims, and have now decided to award me around £1500!
Thought i would throw it out to the forum in case anyone was either thinking of claiming, or have been declined by Halifax before.
Good luck!
Matt

Well done on the win and well done for showing you don't need to chuck money at a claims company to get a refund.
The reviews are being done by many banks and there have been other success stories on the forum, however, the review is at the whim of the bank, you can't trigger it yourself so if you did get declined, you can cross your fingers but ringing them up is unlikely to achieve anything - but do put in a claim if you feel you were miss-sold and have a good case (ask for help on the forum if unsure)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I had a letter recently from HBOS about a PPI claim they refused about 5 years ago IIRC. It's being reviewed so fingers crossed.0
