Hi All,
I am looking for some ideas of evergreen trees/shrubs/grasses for my border.
Would like to have a variety of heights but nothing that will take up too much width.
Border is south facing with a good soil.
Thanks

Nandina domestica is my favourite evergreen and I like skimmia reevesiana, but skimmia won't like full sun apparently.
You could try one of the varieties pieris too and I've got miscanthus zebrinus grass at the back of mine for some height. It's not really evergreen but you can leave the foliage on over winter for winter interest.
You could add some conifers too, they come in all sorts of colours and shapes and sizes.0 -
Juniper 'Skyrocket' and Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Aurea' are both fastigate forms, growing in a narrow evergreem column.
Box can be clipped to shape
The switch grass Panicum virgatum 'Heavy Metal' grows in stiff, upright clumps but isn't evergreen.0 -
Thanks both, will do some googling.

Have/ had the same problem. Thinking shrubs, but which ones. Which would grow best??
Took the shotgun approach, saw an advert for 12 different shrubs del.
for less than £20
They arrived last week , yes some are fairly small/twiggy but all look healthy. Planted this w/e.
Will they all prosper ?? at that price if I get 5 , will be very happy .
