Please help

I know its probably been asked before, but just wondering if you could help me with it!

I'm gonna be moving out of home soon and part of the agreement with my new flatmate is that I undergo a credit check. I'm really worried about it, as I have a pay monthly phone and they took money out of my account and there wasn't any there, so this left me overdraft and they said they can't take it out. I rang them up saying that I was sacked from my previous job and started one and will be able to pay for it as soon as I get my first paycheck from my new job. I've got another phone bill coming up soon and I can pay for that one manually and I will be cut off from making phone calls and text messages. Being overdrawn in one bank account and having problems with the phone bill, will this do bad on my credit check and lead me to not getting this propetery?

Please please help, I'm pulling my hair out about this, probably for all the wrong reasons!!

If someone can make me :j in the air with happiness I'd appreicate it!

Thank you

Why don't you pay to have a look at your credit file yourself, I think you can do it for just £2 and I'm sure Martin has an article on it.
You may find that this incident hasn't appeared on the check yet. If it does, then why not ring the new flatmate and explain to them what happened. If you can reassure them that it doesn't affect your ability to pay rent they will probably be OK. Although, do you want them to know you were sacked? Sounds like you are dealing with the flatmate direct rather than through a letting agency which gives you more leeway.
As for the overdraft, If its an agreed overdraft I don't think it appears on your credit file. Will go off and find a link to the credit check article now...

I might do that yes, I'll have a look on the main site later. I will mention it to him when we meet up and sign all the forms, but as I have a new job and it's fulltime and I'll be able to pay for it. I am dealing with the flatmate mainly as I went through the website roommate. Sounds good that I'm not directly dealing with the letting agency, I'm meeting up with him and filling in the forms on Thursday. I previously failed my last one, because I didn't have a job.

The overdraft was not agreed, that's whats bugging me, I don't think it would affect it but who knows.

Flatmates should pass credit checks too.
Within 1 month of moving in mine's had the bailiff round and I've found out they owe £1000 for the last 2 month's rent.

Needless to say, I expect to be looking for somewhere else to live soon.

As people are not always 100% truthful, he does seem genuine and has been paying a large amount of his salary into it. He is also in debt by quite a bit as he needs more money coming in, that I am aware of.
