Crossover comparison & which way to pay

Looking for a crossover
I am 6'4"
Family of 7 (3 x teens, 2 x toddlers and my good lady wife) - we already have a Kia Sedona for all 7, this is my daily car and weekend workhorse/taxi.
100 miles daily commute (dual carriageway driving)
Every other weekend - tenpin bowling tournament anywhere in the country from East Anglia. 2 x teens + at least 8 bowling balls in the boot.
Son will be inheriting my current car as hitting 17

Thoughts
Duster - Cheap, basic, does the job - I am not one for knobs and whistles. Radio & A/C is enough (DAB would be nice)

Sportage - comfortable and roomy for a 6" passenger behind me the 6'4" driver

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross - Roomy, big boot, gadgets, room for passenger

Still to look at Citroen C4 Cactus & Mazda CX-5

Qashqai - discounted - my head hits roof, when seat lowered bad driving position.

FINANCE

Doing 35k a year I have been given different advice by different dealers as to how to pay, I will be wanting to change in 3 years time so logic says, put down as smaller deposit as you can.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

If you are changing every three years discount the Duster (if you were keeping it for 10+ years then that would be different).

Do your research in to what has the best residuals and suits your needs.
  • Pretty much in the same boat, I loved the new Qashqai but my noggin also hits the roof when in the drivers seat.

Looked at the Duster but been put off by the well documented corrosion issue, someone I know bought one and it was going rusty within weeks thanks to thin paint and untreated cheap steel. apparently new ones are fine but it still puts me off, especially Dacias lacklustre response.

    We're still looking.

They don't do the Qashqai in my size either, ended up with a Honda CR-V. It's OK. A friend has the Dacia, it's 'orrible.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I was going to add the CR-V too, really spacious and the boot is huge. Bit wider so 3 in the back isn't too bad.
European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.
  • Thanks folks - any help on the payment system to use? Doing such high milage has made it difficult for those in the family to advise me on.
