DLA + RFL refund

My son was awarded DLA higher rates at the beginning of March. We went to the post office to apply for the road fund license exemption. The lady in the post office said I should get a partial refund (3 months on the current tax disc April-June 2015) and that a cheque would be sent in the post from the DVLA.
I received the new V5C in the post last week but to date not a sniff of the cheque yet.
How long does it normally take? I thought I'd have received it by now?

Considering that the DVLA employ over 5.600 people at their centre it will still take ages, as they only have one speed and that is slow0
