Cheap Car To Insure
Comments

I got quoted £2,500 for most smaller cars...in the end I bought a ford fiesta 2011 plate and it worked out as £850 for the year. The engine is the same size as a smaller car so maybe look into this?0

A friends daughter has a 1.3l ka, insured for quite a bit cheaper than a 1.0l ka, go figure!!
The cheapest quote I could get on a 1.0l allagro in '92 was £7000 -
Son's 18, passed in January. Got a 1.2 Clio soon after, just over £900 with Insure The Box. Black box fitted, 8000 mile PA, no curfews etc.
Tried big cars, little cars, petrols and diesels, even classics, but nope, smaller engined petrols were cheapest.
Edit to add, just went to check excess as I thought it might have been high (tried £1000 excess quotes too) but no, £300 compulsory only.0 -
Go on compare the market and try loads of dummy quotes. A few years ago when my wife passed she got insured on a Honda Jazz for around a grand. The usual corsas, fiestas etc were well over 2 grand, and most estates etc were fairly reasonable which also made no sense. A 1.0 fiesta was over 2 grand, but a 250bhp BMW was about £1200...0
