Hi folks,
I have noticed that this has become more common recently. If I do a google search for something, then later on browsing other sites similar items that I searched for on google appear on the ad section of that site.
Other than to stop searching with google is there any way to stop this?
Example I searched for speaker stands on google and when I went to the thinkbroadband website similar ads are there.
Thanks

What browser are you using?
I'd install Adblock Plus if you want to get rid of all of them. Otherwise, isn't it better to have targeted ads than irrelevant ones?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

- Turn off 3rd party cookies in your browser settings
- On the adverts if you hover you'll see a small icon for "Ad Choices" if you click on this you can configure some settings and turn off tracking
- Clear all the cookies in your browser (this will log you out of every website too)
- Install ad blocking software

Shared computer: all depends what you have been searching for...
Sharing a computer doesn't stop you having separate user accounts. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Adblock Plus is your friend. It works with Firefox and probably other browsers too. Once installed, make sure you untick the 'allow non-intrusive advertising' option in the settings to ensure that everything is blocked.0 -
I think all Browsers are allowing Advert Boxes to appear, this is how they make their money. You can restrict this through Mozilla Firefox where you can allow certain pages with and some without the adverts. Problem now is that you cannot distinguish between sponsored adverts and not aponsored.

Just install adblock plus as has been recommended in this thread. I haven't seen an ad in years. For someone who is used to seeing ads in their browser it will be like going to heaven0

Chrome or Firefox with adblock or adblock plus both combinations work fine.0
