the slightest personal use of a company van can trigger a £3000 benefit in kind.
Not necessarily as outlined in the HMRC link I posted.

If your mileage is not to high,I would look at contract hire the prices are very cheap and you know your outlay each month, I hope it never happens but if the company fails you just give the van back without any personal obligations, that's if you do not sign a personal Guarantee

Hmmm, food for thought guys, thank you very much.

I do have an accountant, only reason for coming on here was that there WAS a van for sale that would fit my requirements, but I wondering which would be the most beneficial way to do it, however that has now sold, so sadly I missed the boat. I will have a word with the accountant and see whats what on tuesday (long way off!)..

As a few of you have said, if the company (vat registered) was the owner then I can claim back money on MOT's, servicing, parts, etc etc.. which would certainly help some!

I'd talk to your accountant, they know your business we don't.

    Talk to your accountant.

And I would not personally buy a Transit.

The Sprinter is decent, used them for years in 2.7cdi flavour.

The Renault Master is underrated butbcan have clutch/gearbox issues.

Why not buy an ex NHS Patient Transport vehicle with a rear ramp?

Merthyr Motor Auctions usually has some. Just remove the seats and you have a well insulated vehicle with easy access.

For your budget you will get a much newer Master/Movano (there is a Nissan version but can't remember the name)
