Hi guys,
I currently have a NIKON 3300 DSLR.
I am pretty new to photography, and tbh I don't really use it.
I think it's just too big and a pain to take out sometimes.
I am going around Europe this month and it will be a pain to carry it around all the time.
I am going to sell it and buy a compact camera.
I want one that is really good and making videos. As well as sharp videos
I want one where I can make decent videos like she does in this video. Where it focus's well

Skip it 5:44 what camera does she have?
I am quite fussy, I want a black camera and canon.
Money isn't a problem. But looking to spend £350ish
Thanks

Tough question as there's not much detail in the video to identify the camera, it definitely looks like a Canon as the white bit at the top is the name and the model is down the bottom the other side. I've looked through some Canon cameras and can't quite match it though, due to the low resolution there's no detail that can be read and I'm not sure if the bit above the lens is an AF illuminator or a reflection.
My best guess would be it's a G7X as there's no fixed flash and the top of the camera looks like it's sloping in slightly:

Certainly if you're looking for a compact high quality Canon it's the model I'd recommend although I appreciate it's over budget. Similar to the Sony RX series it has a comparatively large 1in sensor (not as large as the sensor in DSLRs but much bigger than other compact cameras) which gives it very good image quality for the size. I've had a Sony RX100 mk1 since release which has the same sensor size (the Canon uses the same Sony sensor as the RX100 Mk2 and mk3 as far as I'm aware) and find it a great camera as it's small enough to carry everywhere with me but still offers decent image quality.

Thank you John
I have been looking into the RX models.

Does that mean the video quality is the same between the RX100 and the RX100II?
RX100
1920 x 1080 (60 fps), 1440 x 1080 (30 fps), 1280 x 720 (30 fps), 640 x 480 (30 fps)
RX100II
1920 x 1080 (60 fps), 640 x 480 (30 fps)
Is there much difference between the 2 models?0 -
I had a similar problem and put a thread here earlier. In the end I decided not to go for the Cannon and bought a Panasonic Lumix TZ55 £99 manufacturer refurbished on Ebay, great camera with decent zoom and all the auto or manual settings you find on DSLRs costing three times as much. Plus it fits in a pocket!0

The RX100 mk 2 has a better sensor for low light (not hugely though), wi-fi capability, a tilting screen, a 1080p 24fps mode (popular with some for a cinematic look) and a hotshoe for adding accessories in comparison to the original mk 1. I haven't used a mk 2 but I wouldn't expect to see a large difference in video quality although a tilting LCD could be handy when shooting at awkward angles.

I don't see what the tilting screen will do?? Prob being stupid lol0

I recently bought a Canon SX510 HS, excellent spec. and good in low light, they were about £230 but have been reduced to sell off as they have now been replaced by a newer model.
Worth a check of the reviews.
