My MIL is due home from hospital soon, she is partially sighted and following a stroke her memory is not good. I would like to get her a phone with simple auto dial, to use the one she has you have to scroll through names displayed in a small window which she cannot see.
So is there a phone where she can press the book symbol and then 1 or 2 or 3 etc to phone people?
I remember many years ago we used auto diallers which used a card you put into a small holder and the number on the card was dialled, that would be ideal but I don't think they exist any more.

An even better idea would be one with speed dial buttons down the side of the phone as well as a phone book so that her most dialed numbers are a single button press.
Something like this, which was a random choice from a Google search.

The RNIB sell a number of phones, this is one example:

AAARRRGGGHHH So if something like these is out there in a cordless version that might get her vote.0 -

There's these cordless phones from Doro:

My Boss has a mobile phone from this brand and they are easy to use. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Thanks for link but finding out how you access the phone book is not easy!
Can you just press the book button and then a number, 1 or 2 or 3 etc. to dial someone??0 -
This has 3 speed dials, M1, M2, and M3. Much simpler if you only need 3 numbers that are one-touch. 10 more are available as two-touch numbers.

Thanks again for all the ideas but as I have already said, cordless with one button dial would be best, This with cordless handset for example http://www.completecareshop.co.uk/household-aids/phones/amplified-phone-view-large?gclid=CjwKEAjw9PioBRDdpqy0-ofG3DgSJAACe5NE3RE4q-x8H4S0HGGKuKEs2q_DHB6BmtOCfdA2ansVyxoCeVvw_wcB
Does it exist????
Sorry but the DORO phones have the same system as her existing one and are not suitable for partially sighted, you have to scroll through a list of names in a small window to choose someone from the phone book!0 -
Is there anything suitable on here?

Looking at the Doro PhoneEasy 100 manual it's possible to assign speed dialling to keys 2 through 9.
But given that's too much like her existing one there must be a cordless phone out there similar to the one you've linked to!
Edit: might be too similar to the one your MiL threw out but there's this from Geemarc:

Thanks, 20aday, I missed that. I think it is exactly what is required, will now propose the one with the answerphone. Hope she approves!0
