Found a bullet

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this but today I found a small bullet in a cupboard of the property I rent. It's definitely a live bullet although quite small.
What do I do? I don't know who's it is and I'm not sure if I should contact the police as I don't want to get anyone into trouble and jeopardise my tenancy

Throw it in the bin and no one will ever know.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

If it is a live bullet , and not the fake ones you see made into keyrings etc. then it is controlled under the firearms act and possession of it without a licence is an offence.
You could just bin it, but the only lawful option you have is to hand it to the police.0 -
Are you sure its not a Hilti cap left over by workmen.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

Hi, Ring 101 and explain and Police will come and collect it-it won't be a problem.0

Does it look like this ? If so its a hilti cap the joiner used to fasten something to the wall like a cupboard bracket

No it's not them.0

Well then there is nothing anyone else can advise you to do other than call the police as we are committing a conspiracy with you with any other advice..I do Contracts, all day every day.0

You've admitted it on a public forum now, you're not going to be very popular if the previous tenant turns out to be a terrorist.0

Throwing it in the rubbish would be spectacularly silly - so it goes into landfill, falls out of the binbag, gets caught in the truck mechanism, shoots a child... OK, far-fetched (and then some), but it's worth doing properly.
Also, if the previous tenant, or one before, or whatever turns out to go on a school shooting rampage, will you forgive yourself for not giving the police a lead?0 -
Check that it's metal: I picked up a kid's plastic one in the garden when I moved in. Visually it looked very realistic.0
