Hi, at the moment I have the free AVG on my tablet and it seems to be adequate.
However in the latest Which? computing magazine it only scores 53% as opposed to ' Lookout Security and Ativirus' Free which scores 74% as does the same makes paid for version which is £2 a month.
The highest scoring anti virus for tablets is76% for Webroot Secure Anywhere Mobile Premier which is £3, I think this is an annual fee, it's not made clear in the magazine or on Google Play.

Hope this helps0 -
I like Lookout - AV plus some other stuff like tracking in the case of theft and it doesn't get in the way - Free!0

Qihoo 360 Antivirus scored 100% in a recent trustworthy test. Closely behind that at 99.8% was Avast. Both are free.

You don't need security software for an android tablet.0

Less than 0.15% of users using Google Play as the only app source get infected. Of those, the overwhelming majority will be installing 'sexy girls wallpaper' apps, and many of those in non-English markets for older versions of Android, before they get removed. If you include other app sources ('free APK sideload' - style sites) the figure is closer to 1%.
These figures were released in the tech press in the last few days.
If you want to stay clean, only use Google Play, and stick to mainstream apps.0 -
And aside from paddy's point, it's not remotely clear that the 1% or so that are affected by malware would have been protected by commercial AV products anyway. The Android architecture is well thought out and unless the security suite runs as root, which it can't on a non-rooted Android machine, it simply can't do the things that security suites need to do in order to be effective.0
