in Credit cards
I would appreciate some input on this please. I have just got a Caxton FX Card. I wil be going by road to Sweden in May, so will need Euros and Swedish Krona.
Can I put two currencies on one card? Or I could get another card in my wife's name and use the two separately
I did phone Caxton, the person I spoke to did not know the answer, long story but I gave up on the phone

I think you need two cards for two currencies.
Can you not get a debit or credit card instead that doesn't charge for conversion?0 -
Their website says the following -
"Change currencies in minutes, before you travel, or whilst you're travelling. Do it all using the Caxton FX app or via your online account."
It isn't very clear on their website but the impression I get is that you can load multiple currencies onto the one card but they remain as separate currencies on your account and you have to switch between them using the app.
Personally, I would get a Halifax Clarity credit card which offers superior exchange rates (although you lose the ability to lock into a fixed rate by purchasing at a time to suit you) with the advantage being that you don't end up with a credit balance of SEK and Euro on your Caxton account which, should you need to, would be converted back to £ at a poorer exchange rate.
The benefits of various cards for overseas use is covered in more detail in the Flights and Currency section within the Overseas Travel section of this forum.0 -
Or one card in sterling which you can use anywhere, the conversion being done when you withdraw the money0

Kalixa pre-pay would probably be better.
Better exchange rate.
Sterling conversion to multiple currencies.
Better ATM cost if withdrawing over c£80.0 -

I cannot seem to get anyone who knows anything to answer my calls. They always are going to get someone to ring me back which they haven't as yet. Not good customer service...0 -
Seems to me that with their new setup you can load both currencies on the card, and you decide which currency to use at time of use?
So, I have a few euros left on my card from my last trip. If my next trip is in the US I could load dollars and then use those dollars on my trip, while the Euros remain untouched for my next European trip?0 -
Their customer service is useless. I spoke to a girl who was as thick as two short planks!
The answer is on their website, load up to 24 currencies.
I am in Sweden at moment. I loaded mine with Euros, Duke for Denmark and SEE for Sweden.
It has worked well in all countries in shops garages etc and ATM.
My sister has just been to Australia and It worked well there as well.
Top ups online can be done in secondsWhen did problems become "Issues"? :mad:0
