Just set your controller to auto off after 10 mins and it won't be glowing. Can't help you with the noise, I've never noticed but my console is hidden away behind the wall.
The external hard drive and streaming issue has been talked about and it looks promising this will be sorted with a patch in the future.
GTA V and The last of us remastered are night and day from PS3 as far as I can see.
Lack of decent titles just now is the main downer for me. Always the same with a new console tho, GTA online is keeping me going now tho.0 -

And now that Resogun's made it to PS3 and Vita, that makes Bloodborne a £300 game. o_O
Didn't realise there was so few exclusives my bad.0 -
It's horses for courses. I've not had the time to complete a massive backlog. Out of GTAV, Driveclub, The Order, Dying Light, Farcry 4 that I've bought over the past 6 months I've only finished The Order as it was particularly short. Still got about 10 PS+ games I haven't tried too!
Previously had fantastic experiences with The Last of Us and Infamous: Second Son. Overall, pretty happy with mine.0 -

 Unless you have a spare 6 months or so, I'm not sure you'll ever catch up or at least complete them all.
I've still a few PS+ titles I haven't looked at and Wolfenstein which I played for a very short while and will need to start again. I've got Driveclub, played it for a few hours, but bored of it for now.
I've completed the story mode and some other bits and pieces in GTA V, Watch_Dogs and Sleeping Dogs, which has taken about 150 hours.0 -
I feel the same way. Since i bought my PS4 with GTAV as well in the Black Friday sales it's been used 3 times if i remember.
Lack of multimedia support is pretty lame. I'm used to consoles gaining enhancements as they develop, not losing them.
Quite tempted to sell it and fall back to the PS3 again for media and just stick to the PC for gaming. All your base are belong to us.0 -

Got Wolfenstein and The Evil Within on the shelf too! Totally forgot that.
Games are so huge now, excellent value entertainment if the quality is up to scratch. Glad I waited for GTA V. Saw it running on a PS3 and a 360 when it launched and thought it was a great technical achievment on old hardware. Saw it running again on last gen machines recently after playing the PS4 version and it looks ghastly. Jerks around all over the place, missing textures, low draw distance, jaggy as hell. It's amazing what you'll get used to.0 -

Sounds like you should get an xb1, does everything you want it for, movies, streaming and games. Does the lot, even has the tv tuner to stream tv round the house on phones and tablets0

What about the Assassins Creed unity game for ps4 which you cannot get for ps3 and Destiny and The last of us are good games but you can get them on ps3Let them eat cake (Marie Antoinette 1765)0

As time moves on, more and more games are going to be current generation only. A glance at of all things Game newsletter has shown a raft of "coming soon" games, and few are PS3 or 360.
This isn't to say the old generation isn't worth getting (if cheap) or keeping, as this depends on how many old games you've played and want to still play.
If - say someone was new to consoles, imagine buying now a 360 or PS3, the back catalogue that there is............for literally peanuts. It would be a personal "golden age" of gaming.
Really though, for anyone interested in gaming, it's not a case of if but when we'll upgrade to Xbone or PS4. Eventually it will have to be done - or get a PC instead of course0
