Greggs are to open a store here on a 12 month trial basis

You would have thought a city centre location would have made more sense for a trial rather than a service station on the far side of belfast?

Greggs is on the whole disgusting. The further out of towns they go the better.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. I also write wills. All information posted on this site is for discussion only, and should not be taken as advice.0

strange place for a service station in the first place. Cant ever see it being too busy in any respect to be honest.0

I could live off Greggs. Absolutely love it. Sooner they are here, the better! Would have thought Botanic would be a better site for a trial.0

I suspect that they've chosen the site for 2 reasons:
1. Cheap so if it all goes wrong they don't lose much cash
2. The servo will let them sign a short lease
You don't end up with 1500+ shops by accident!0 -
would be good to see greggs here but crazy to for them to do a trial in that location, bizarre0

Gregs are attached to most of the service stations on the road up from London to Scotland. They offer a cheaper alternative to the over priced food usually on offer.0

Is that the shop that is famous for healthy food like sausage rolls? I suppose because it is a national brand and it gets lots of free advertising on national comedy and news shows on TV so it will probably do well. I feel sorry for the local shops which cannot get such a high profile.0

Interesting. Didnt know that.
I would more normally associate them with city centre locations on the mainland, but i guess thats because its more because of where i've been0 -

Its comfort food. Tasty enough though a little "over processed" at times.
I've no issues with it. Love their sausage rolls - which Iceland do here among other stuff.0
