Some people have nothing better to do than chase compensatipn.

You have suffered no damage or loss. Mistakes are made, live and let live.

Depends on the information in the letter. I would be very very uncomfortable if neighbours or friends find out about my financial situation.

Personally in this situation I'd allow it and hope a letter of apology is given and that is sent to you to confirm they do have the correct contact details.

My mum recently had a Nationwide investment portfolio statement arrive in a completely unsealed envelope (mistake by the team or machine (?) who send them out).

She mentioned it in branch but didn't think much of it and a senior customer services person later phoned her to apologise and offered her £100. She was pleasantly surprised!

But, given that Barclays have asked you what £££ you want, might as well put down £500. They can only say no. :money:

The length of this thread is a worry.

Have we nothing better to do with our lives than trying to empty someone's pocket every time we see an angle?

How many pieces of post go astray each day?

    Shameful.
