Error 1704

I used to have a trial version of Nitro Pro 9 and uninstalled it (or at least I thought I had).
Trying to install Adobe Reader XI and it is coming up with the following error message
Error 1704: An installation for Nitro Pro 9 is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes? Yes/No
Yes - does nothing (brings up Yes/No again)
No - closes the installation
Any ideas?!

Although it says Vista it's still applicable.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Could be a registry problem, ie. redundant items, or missing DLL.
Use CC Cleaner to deal with any registry issues.
Even if it's not that, CC Cleaner is a good way to keep the system tidy.0
