What's the best childrens account?

I want to open a bank account for my son. I would like the account to have full access to online banking (if possible) I want to be able to set up a standing order to it.
My son is 13 years old and this account is somewhere that I can pay his pocket money into.
I'd like it to have some sort of debit/withdrawals card too.

The account does not need to be a high interest earner it just needs to be a regular account that he can use like an adult debit account.

Does one exist? Any help would be appreciated.

My 13yo has an account with Lloyds. It comes with a visa debit card so she can shop and also use it as a cashcard. They set up online banking for her too when we opened the account and she can set up standing orders/Payments out if she wanted to. I have a payment set up into her account for pocket money. Interest wasn't bad either.

She set up and ISA at the same time with Lloyds.
  • @skylight What type of ID did she need and can it be done online or in branch?

Needed to do it in branch - I already have a credit card with Lloyd so they only wanted proof of who she was, so birth cert and/or passport (we took both). If you don't have an account as an adult, then you have to prove your id and address as well. Thats pretty standard though.
