It just seems such a complicated process for such a small estate lol
It's just the fear of it being the HMRC that's making me panic0 -
I have a solicitor doing this for me and she has put everything down as a flat £1000 which is probably a little generous if anything but the total estate is only £135K so not a problem.0

Normally contents insurance is for more than the actual value as if you have a fire or get burgled you want to replace the losses items, which may have little value with new stuff. Having said that if the estate is well under the IHT threshold it does not matter if you over estimate the value.0
