Tax on pension for resident in Ireland

facetious
Good afternoon.
I'm 69 and so glad that I did not get an annuity when I turned pension age as I can now have the lot!
I have two pension pots totaling about 40 k. I am Irish and live in the Republic of Ireland.
My question is how does the tax situation work? I believe I must pay my tax on the pension in Ireland and not in the UK, there being arrangements between the 2 countries.
Many thanks in advance.

As I understand it, if the country the member is living in has a double taxation agreement with the UK, this may allow pension payments to be made without the deduction of UK tax. This will depend on the terms of the DTA which will have a specific section covering pensions.

You might telephone your tax office and ask about your situation.
You can then contact the pension provider.0 -
